We will be meeting at the den at 10 am for tomorrow’s hike. Lifts will be required to larch hill. Pickup will be at larch hill car park at 4.15. All scouts should have a packed lunch and full rain gear.
The scout leaders
There will be no scout section hike this weekend. It has been postponed to a date to be confirmed at next weeks meeting.
The 103rd Willington group investiture will take place Sunday 11th December at 4pm at the scout den. All youth members and parents are encouraged to attend to welcome our new members into their various sections. This is a celebration of our new members in our 40th year. See you there !!
The scouts will be going on a section hostel on Friday the 18th November.
We will be meeting at the den at 7pm and travelling to Glendalough International Youth hostel.
The cost for this activity is 35 euro. Scouts should bring all equipment for a normal camping weekend including a sleeping bag and hiking boots.
Lifts and carpooling will be greatly appreciated both on Friday evening and Sunday afternoon at approximately 2pm.
The annual pl/apl training weekend will be held this weekend in Arklow scout den.
We will be meeting at Willington scout den at 6.45.
All participating scouts are required to bring everything for a camping weekend including eating utensils and sleeping equipment. Scouts must also bring swimming apparel as some aspects of the weekend will be water based.
All scouts must wear a neckerchief at all times.
Collection will be at 2pm on Sunday
Electronic devices are strictly prohibited as per all scout events.

The Scout Team
The scouts will be meeting tomorrow at 10.30 at the den for a section hike. Lifts would be very much appreciated to Kilmashogue car park (roughly 15 minutes from the scout den). Collection will be from Larch Hill car park at 4 pm where lifts would also be appreciated back to the den. Please find directions to Kilmashogue car park by copying the link below.
The scout section will be going to the zoo this coming Saturday. We will be meeting at 8.30 am at the den to arrange car pooling or at 9am at the Knockmaroon gate of the Phoenix Park for those who wish to go directly. Please copy the link below into your browser for directions. Pick up will be at 5.30 at the zoo car park. Please bring a pack lunch and rain gear for the day.
1x Sleeping bag
1x Rucksack (Or 1 appropriately sized bag which your child can carry comfortably)
1x Waterproof Jacket
1x Waterproof/Resistant Trousers
1x Pair of Hiking Boots (Highly Recommended but sturdy runners if none are available at short notice)
Warm Clothing (Fleeces or hoodies extra socks hat if necessary etc)
Lightweight Durable Plate Cup Bowl and Spork/Knife and Fork, plastic or metal are best.
Packing clothes by day in plastic bags can be helpful in case of rain. SImilarly sleeping bags should be packed inside rucksack in a plastic bag if possible to ensure that they remain dry.
Medications should be packed in clear plastic bags labelled with the child’s name and presented to leaders at the time of drop off along with the medications management form.
This list is to help prepare first time cubs for camp but is not exhaustive. Items which the children may usually have at bedtime such as a teddy bear are welcomed provided they fit comfortably within the rucksack.
All normal scout rules apply, therefore we ask that unnecessary valuables and all electronic items be left at home.
The second payment of €150 for annual camp is now overdue. The final payment of €130 is due for payment on 9th June. Could all participants please bring second payments to scout leaders ASAP if you have not already done so. If you have any queries or concerns please contact the scout leaders.
