Community Contributions
To acknowledge essential family support, we’ve introduced a tiered fee structure linked to ‘community contributions’ (fundraising, clean-ups, maintenance, or skills).
Schedule of Opportunities
The schedule of opportunities throughout the year can be seen below โย this list will grow over time to provide more frequent options.
If you would like to get involved coordinating the support/fundraising efforts for the Scout Group, or you have any ideas โ please email [email protected].

Expectations
The base-line expectation is four contributions per youth member each year. In many cases, the youth member can complete themselves or work alongside their guardian to double up contributions (like during the bag pack). However, some opportunities are only suitable for parents/guardians.
Tier selection is based on trust. Participation will be monitored throughout the year. If a family is unable to meet their agreed-upon commitment, we may need to discuss covering the fee difference, and access to discounted tiers may be reviewed for the next year.
Flexibility
We strive for an equitable approach but understand circumstances change. Consistent with the Scouting ethos, please contact your child’s section leadership team if your family requires any flexibility this year.
Purpose-Specific Initiatives
Please note that purpose-specific initiatives (like fundraising for an annual camp) do not count toward the community contributions requirement. These efforts directly reduce the cost or enhance the quality of an activity for only those attending, independent of the Scout Group’s operating costs.
50:50 / Opt Out Tiers
A reduced tier means fewer required contributions for your family. While your reduced commitment is noted internally, you may still receive communications about Group fundraisers and initiatives (via email/WhatsApp) the same as all members โ with realistic consideration given to the voluntary nature of the Scout Group.
