About Cub Scouts
Cub Scouts (ages 9–11) take Scouting to the next level with hands-on exploration, bigger outdoor adventures, and real teamwork. Meeting weekly during school terms, Cub Scouts master skills like cooking, navigation, and campcraft before putting them to the test on mountain hikes, multi-night camps, hostel trips, and huge events like Jamóige—a camp with over 2,000 Cub Scouts. Organized into teams of six called “Sixes” within a larger Pack, Cub Scouts step up into genuine responsibility. Led by a peer leader (Sixer) and assistant (Seconder), Cub Scouts make team decisions, run their own Sixer Councils to shape the programme, and learn to look out for one another while having maximum fun in nature.
Willington has 2 Cub Scout Packs, meeting on Monday and Wednesday evenings.
