Scouts Helping Out – Pascal Fire

In keeping with tradition, the Scout section took a short break from their busy Shield training practice to help out at in the community by building an altar fire in the St Jude the Apostle church for the Easter Vigil mass.

The Scouts had to build an altar fire using their pioneering skills and light the Pascal Fire so that the new Pascal Candle could be lit at the beginning of the Easter Vigil mass.

After their hard work they were rewarded with an easter egg or two! Yum!

Toilet Renovations: Progress Update

We are delighted to announce that phase one of the toilet upgrades are now complete.  The toilets have been under renovation for the past number of months with the work completed on a voluntary basis by Colin & George.

The work couldn’t have been completed without the help of the funding provided by the South Dublin County Council Community Infrastructure Grant. A huge thanks for their help and support.

Phase two is now commencing and on track for completion by the summer break.

New Years Eve – Social Hike

We are going ahead with our annual New Years Eve social hike, meeting in Knocksink Woods Carpark at 12pm on 31 December, for an easy stroll. There is a carpark there. If the carpark is full, there is another carpark in Enniskerry. We will divert you there if there are no spaces in Knocksink.

This is a hike to get all families out together. It will be approximately 5km. We suggest taking hot flasks and mince pies for a snack afterwards or alternatively there are coffee shops in Enniskerry.

Scouts will be starting in Kilmashogue Car park at 10am and will meet us in Knocksink so anyone collecting a Scout, they can be collected in Knocksink.

A Google Maps link to Knocksink Woods can be found here.
